If we really want God to help us, we have to learn to help ourselves by continually asking God to bless us in our daily activities. No activity is too big or too small for God, Just hold unto God daily.
One of the best ways to hold unto God is to pray. Prayer changes everything. Unless we pray regularly before every activity in our lives we might find ourselves in trouble. This is because, the devil never rests. This is why you have to pray before you cross the street, drive your car ,go to school or go to work. This way we can constantly continue to ask for divine intervention, divine protection and divine blessings.
We have to try to do everything for the glory of God. If we do not act for the glory of God, we have to ask ourselves why we are acting. Is it to please ourselves, to please others, or to continue in sin? The truth is that unless we immerse ourselves in God through consistent daily prayers, our thoughts and desires may lead us away from God. Holding unto God daily will give us the moral compass to navigate through the treacherous seas of daily living.
We can do this because our sufficiency is from God. Colossians ,3:23,25 (New American Bible) says ,” whatever you do, do from your heart,as for the Lord and not for others. For the wrongdoer will receive recompense for the wrong he committed.”
May God forgive us our sins and help us to persevere in trial. James 1:2( New American Bible) says ,”Consider it joy when you encounter trials ..for the testing of your faith produces perseverance.” Sometimes our thoughts and desires test us , at other times we are tested by our friends and circumstances.Either way the first step towards passing these steps would be to ask for God’s help through prayers. The second step would be to avoid putting ourselves in occasions of sin.
To do this day in , day out, we have to hold unto God daily. We can do this by having conversations with Him through reading the bible. We can all learn from listening to Fr. Mbaka’s “talks” and music videos, going to mass frequently , going for adoration and trying to be merciful to others and to ourselves. May God continue to bless and protect us.Amen.
